Please Be A Volunteer
Your executive held a special meeting for members in July to inform us
that a huge effort on the part of the members is required in order for our
club to survive. This summer has been particularly difficult due to some
high maintenance costs in June and in part by the new no-smoking laws.
What is needed are more events in the Club plus increased hall rentals.
However, to fully utilize the facilities we need people to help out.
Currently we have a small group of people doing all the work. They can not
be expected to carry the full work load. We therefore need a pool of
people we can call upon from time to time to help out,
When some people hear the word volunteer they walk away thinking "I
don't have time for that." However, when you volunteer to help out in
whatever area you choose, you will NOT be expected to be here all the
time! You may be asked once a month or less if you can help out with a
particular function. If you are busy on that occasion, this is
understandable, and we will ask the next person on the list. The
more people that offer their help, the less often you will be called.
Remember, this is YOUR club. Lets all do our part to help keep it
alive.
